The Delhi HC yesterday ruled that “Armies have to be in readiness to first discharge the duty that they have been raised for. We cannot have any compromise on that. Let us not beyond a point press on that,” said the court, adding a lot of personnel and their families have already got affected. Apart from the fact that armed forces assistance is already being provided in transportation of oxygen cylinders, airlifting of empty oxygen containers and transportation of filled oxygen containers from industrial units apart from the use of and set up of hospitals as is known”

Gen Shankar: Leaving politics aside, why is it that each time we have a situation the country the AF are always asked to help solve it. May a times they are not trained or even geared up for the tasks but the call still comes. To me shows the abject failure of the civil administrative setups that we have. Your comments on this.
Gen Dua: By pushing the AF into this battle wouldn’t it effect our battle readiness looking at the hostility that we face?
Gen Shankar: The hospitals set up for the armed forces are for its men and the vets that are entitled to use them. My fear is the care for them which might get affected along with the over utilisation the scarce resources with the AF. Your opinion.
Gen Dua: I d like you to comment on the best employment of the armed forces in this Covid situation we see ourselves in today.
In closing I d like to you gaze and comment at a situation where if the AF have to do these disaster management tasks as well. How do you think the forces must be 1) geared up 2) empowered for such tasks
