Both sides are reportedly inviting and deploying foreign fighters in the battle. Mercenaries from Syria and Chechnya are being employed by the Russian Side and the Ukrainians have employed former western military personnel to guide the ground forces in Ukraine. The introduction of these fighters makes the way for a long drawn out Proxy war in the region.
